The F-16’s and F-18’s use the M61 Vulcan gun to fire these rounds. The M61 Vulcan is a hydraulically or pneumatically driven, six-barrel, air-cooled, electrically fired Gatling-style rotary cannon which fires 20 mm rounds at an extremely high rate (typically 6,000 rounds per minute). The M61 and its derivatives have been the principal cannon armament of United States military fixed-wing aircraft for fifty years.
The cartridges are original brass cases with either new old stock, un-fired projectiles or previously fired projectiles retrieved from a bombing range. They have been reassembled for display purposes only.
THIS IS AN INERT PROJECTILE AND CARTRIDGE! The original bullet was fired and this authentic case was gathered from the firing range. The projectile is new old stock or was cleaned up, and added back into it for display.
Each display cartridge measures 6 3/4 inches in length and 1 1/8 inch in diameter, 7.6 ounces in weight. This cartridge will also come with a small history info sheet, describing the item along with the gun. Please indicate which color you would like in your order.
