This War relic was fired from an actual A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog".
The case was removed from the aircraft after being fire from it's war-time or training mission. This
twin-engine, straight-wing jet aircraft was developed in the early 1970's and is the only United States Air Force aircraft designed solely for close air support of ground forces. The A-10 was built to attack tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets with limited air defenses.
was designed around the GAU-8 Avenger, a 30mm rotary cannon that is the airplane's primary armament and the heaviest such automatic cannon mounted on an aircraft. The gun fires approximately 30 rounds per second.

THIS IS AN INERT CARTRIDGE ! The bullet was originally fired and this case was removed from the aircraft. The case was filled with sand, and a newly machined projectile was created, painted and added back into it for display purposes only.
There are three different color heads to choose from, each color represents a different type of projectile originally manufactured. Yellow = High Explosive, Black = Armor Piercing, Blue = Practice Tip. Please select which one you want in the order.
See the detailed manufacturer’s information still on each cartridge case. Cartridges measure 11 1/2 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. This item will also come with a small history information sheet, describing the item along with the aircraft.
